Is Anybody Listening?

many talk but few listen

Communication has always fascinated me – but very few people seem to be concerned about its importance – or how to communicate better.

Why am I the only one who seems to spot slip-ups in communication and the misunderstandings or damaged relationships that follow? Not that I am a perfect communicator by any means. I have had a lot to learn!

And why are we so concerned about what we say and how we say it? Should we not be equally concerned with how we can develop our listening skills? What does that say about ourselves and the sense of our own importance compared with the one we are engaging with…?

Can we become better communicators just by becoming better listeners?

These pages are some personal musings which others may be able to identify with. Perhaps together we can work through this and share our insights…

Any takers?
